A review of the global deceptions of our time does not imply extensive justification; detailed information and all necessary additional materials on each topic discussed can be found using the provided links.

Deception No. 1. Modern science is making progress

Modern science is the basis of the worldview of a huge number of people. This key point - the introduction of the same worldview - makes science similar to religions and ideologies. But, unlike the latter, only science, working with the so-called “all progressive humanity,” claims to have global coverage of all peoples of the Earth and, from school age, lays down false dogmas to everyone. For management purposes, it does not matter how true the worldview being introduced is, the only important thing is that it is the same for all people.

The reinforced concrete foundation of a false global scientific doctrine crushes any alternative theories, research and inventions that could shed light on the nature of living matter, electromagnetic phenomena, gravity, and alternative energy.

We are constantly being told about the progress of science, the fruits of which we all use: computers, mobile phones, GPS navigators. But, firstly, all these successes in applied physics appeared not thanks to a correct physical picture of the world, but thanks to technological breakthroughs, to which new theories were hastily adapted. Some of these breakthroughs, for example in microelectronics, do not have a technological record, which, according to some researchers, is a sign of the transfer of such technology to people from those who have long owned it.

And secondly, current technologies threaten life on the entire planet, such as nuclear power plants, which are considered a blessing for alternative energy, disasters at any of which already have global status and in the future can lead to the destruction of all life on Earth. One such “smoldering” atomic bomb", as experts call them, under a certain set of circumstances is capable of blowing up the entire planet.

Counteraction:

Study the facts of the failure of the modern scientific paradigm, analyze alternative theories and views, develop communication among alternative honest scientists, inventors, and researchers. Give up the view of ecology as a separate science - everything should become environmentally friendly: politics, economics, science, education, everyone’s personal life. Try to maintain independence of thought in children when they encounter scientific dogma.

Deception No. 2. Modern medicine is making progress

Modern medicine, except for emergency traumatology, does not treat people, but makes money. As in any business, she makes sure that there are more and more clients. Therefore, many people are maimed even before birth, even more children are killed with extreme cruelty right in the womb, which is unimaginable even among animals. In modern medicine, it is considered the norm to make expensive raw materials for anti-aging creams and drugs from these killed babies. If the child was not killed in the womb, then they try to cripple him during childbirth, using savage obstetric practices. Then, after birth, children are poisoned with vaccinations, and in adulthood, people are treated with poisons, which are slyly called medicines.

It is believed that medicine saved humanity from epidemics of plague, smallpox, and tuberculosis, but most of these diseases disappeared thanks to the development of personal hygiene. Thus, in Rus', with its traditional bathhouse, the above-mentioned diseases were practically absent.

Instead of pandemics of the past, modern medicine produces some types of influenza artificially as biological weapons, which are advantageous because the creators of the demand, the virus, sell the medicine against it.

In modern medicine, transplantation is promoted as a great benefit, the essence of which in most cases is that the rich buys his own life by killing the poor. The growth of this industry is stimulated by local military conflicts and black markets for organs as criminal sources of human raw materials.

Any effective alternative or folk remedy is ridiculed and never introduced into widespread practice, as it contradicts the goal of keeping a person sick for as long as possible.

Modern medicine, by definition, cannot cure a person, since it does not study him as an integral system and approaches him exclusively from the position of a biological carrier, splitting a person into parts, without considering the processes of interaction of his essence (soul, consciousness) with the body.

Counteraction:

Do not shift responsibility for your health to people in white coats. In the existing system, no one will apologize to you for a child maimed during childbirth or with the help of vaccines, or for a tampon left in the body after surgery. Lead a healthy lifestyle, do not use legal drugs - tobacco and alcohol, start a tradition of taking a steam bath once a week.

For illnesses, use alternative treatments first and traditional methods, not forgetting common sense.

Deception No. 3. Religions make a person better

Counteraction:

Use common sense in life, study religions as a technology for controlling the masses. The reconstruction of civilization is impossible without revising its fundamental defect and basic lies - artificial religions. Ecology, living in harmony with nature have never been part of their tasks, because in religions there is no such concept - “Nature”, what our ancestors called “Mother of the Cheese Earth”. Seek a worldview in which there is no place for the destruction of our common planetary home.

Deception No. 4. Modern economics is a natural stage in the development of society

Counteraction:

Deception No. 5. The planet is threatened by overpopulation, resource depletion and famine

Local problems of overpopulation exist in some foreign countries and peoples, however, firstly, they can be solved by increasing the evolutionary level of the inhabitants of these regions, and not by methods of genocide. Secondly, with proper and harmonious development, using nature-like technologies, our planet can feed an order of magnitude more people than it does now. Here are just a few facts:

40% of food produced in the United States ends up in landfills. This amount of food is enough to feed half the population of Africa.

In the United States, farmers are paid subsidies so that they do not produce more than established limits.

According to the UN, a third of the world's food is wasted every year. It was produced but not used.

Now the whole world is looking at Russia as a potential leader in the field of organic farming. We can become a monopolist in the production of natural food throughout the world; this place in the international division of labor is free. Only Russia, the largest country in the world, has millions of hectares of arable land that has had a rest from chemicals, and our lands practically did not know GMOs. There are no other countries like this. Russia can supply both Europe and China with expensive natural food products, which can become an inexhaustible source of foreign exchange earnings, in contrast to exhaustible oil and gas reserves.

Counteraction:

Strive to live in harmony with Nature, if it is impossible to leave the city, support and participate in promising projects in the format of eco-villages and rural tourism. Look for like-minded people, depending on your personal abilities and talents, grow environmentally friendly products or support similar projects, for example, using crowd funding services.

Deception No. 6. Traditional history

Our recent history is an excellent illustration of the level of human civilization before the contagion; by what global cataclysms and cruelest methods this incredible greatness and splendor was destroyed. Keeping us in the dark about this information is effective method crowd control.

Thanks to the development of communications, everyone now has access to evidence of planetary cataclysms, high technologies of ancient civilizations that tore the dilapidated fabric of official history, sewn with white threads.

Execution of the Romanov Royal Family in 1918, a calendar with 2015 from the Nativity of Christ instead of 7524 years from the Creation of the World according to the original chronology, Tatar-Mongol yoke, the emergence of ancient megalithic structures, the spread of the entire civilization from a common ancestor in Africa and the emergence of different races on Earth - these and a huge number of other official myths of traditional history are convincingly refuted by independent researchers.

Counteraction:

If you do not receive salaries and bonuses from academic science, then collect information, analyze primary sources and artifacts, publish them on blogs and forums, and share interesting publications. The flood of information contradicting the official dogma will sooner or later turn from quantity to quality.

At the same time, be critical of information from modern whistleblowers of official history, who often pursue their own goals, use the most reliable sources about our history: first of all, our language, fairy tales, proverbs and sayings, folk dances and songs, traditional crafts - all this figurative information cannot be rewritten, as happened and is happening with written sources.

Deception No. 8. Despite the shortcomings, humanity is developing in the right direction

Many of us feel that something is wrong here. There should not be so much injustice, cruelty and wars on Earth; A person should not be narrow-minded and stupid; it should not be difficult to live honestly and justly; It should not be profitable to become deceitful and unscrupulous.

Science cannot stand still for so many years, industry cannot poison people and the planet with poisons, Agriculture- give tasteless and unhealthy food.

Counteraction:

In a poisoned society, you are given a choice of what to do in each specific case. Let the voice of conscience serve as your guide. Conscience is an entity's signaling system, analogous to the cockpit of a passenger airliner, when dangerous deviations are promptly indicated by sound or flashing signals. What happens if airplane pilots ignore stall signals? It’s the same with a person: constantly ignoring the voice of conscience in favor of the logic of an infected society ultimately leads to the appearance of illnesses, “bad luck” and, ultimately, a complete loss of the essence of a given body on the material level. And the essence itself accumulates negative baggage, which will interfere with development in subsequent incarnations.

But a person always has the opportunity to turn to his conscience for a hint, just as a pilot glances at his instruments from time to time to make sure that the flight is going smoothly.

The only and indisputable guide when choosing a model of behavior in life situations there must be your conscience.

Deception No. 9. Elite managers are the best part of society, acting in the interests of the people

To maintain such an unnatural order, rulers manipulate public consciousness with the help of well-established methods of controlling the psyche of the masses, such as distracting attention, keeping people in ignorance, creating an information background on the principle of “bread and circuses,” and gradually introducing solutions that, if introduced simultaneously, would cause opposition from society . In this way, a civilization of total lies is created.

The actions of the governing elites are so inhuman that they have given rise to eccentric hypotheses that people are controlled by aliens, reptilians, blue-blooded beings... Perhaps the biggest lie of our time is that the governing pseudo-elites consist of people?

Counteraction:

Study methods of manipulating the masses and look for ways to counter them.

Deception No. 10. The purpose of human life is material wealth

In simple words, this deception sounds like this: the main value in the modern world is money. The meaning of life modern man became the accumulation of material wealth.

This global deception leads to many destructive consequences for consciousness and soul:

Destruction of traditional family values and the introduction of physical and spiritual perversions leading to degeneration.

To promote a lifestyle where money becomes the meaning of life, an attitude is being introduced that the essence (human soul) and its reincarnations do not exist.

A similar denial of the existence of the soul is observed both at the level of the official materialistic scientific picture of the world, when proven cases of reincarnation are ignored by scientists, and at the level of most religions, which pursue the goal not of providing real knowledge, but of managing and manipulating a person’s life, blackmailing him with an “eternal pension” - heavenly life.

If a person knows what our world is and what his place is in it, he will never act as the distorted social structure suggests.

Counteraction:

Ask yourself what main meaning of your life? By getting money to support your family, are you going against the voice of your conscience? Stick to traditional family values, value your unique humanity over immediate material goods, and think about the price you will have to pay for shifting your thinking to the enemy's camp. Know that in this case you will descend evolutionarily in this and in future incarnations, and you will inevitably return to an infected society with a tangle of unresolved problems. Strive for nobility, generosity, honesty, justice, loyalty, determination. Cannot be vaccinated in children best qualities, if you yourself are deceiving and selling your soul.

Only after changing yourself can you instill the necessary qualities in your children, educate those who, after you, will transform our imperfect world.

The truth is supposed to set us free, but for many, deception is the key to money, fame, revenge or power. Below are some of the most significant and serious deceptions in history. Although such a list cannot be comprehensive, it still covers various areas of life: politics, science and even art.

Trojan horse

If in war, as in love, all means are fair, then this lie can be forgiven. When the Trojan Paris eloped with Helen, the wife of the king of Sparta, war began. It raged for 10 long years as the Trojans believed they had finally defeated the Greeks. However, little did they know, as the Greeks had another trick in store for them.

The Greeks built a huge wooden horse with a hollow belly, in which the soldiers hid. After the Greeks convinced their enemies that this was a peaceful gift, the Trojans gladly accepted it and “brought” the horse to their fortified city. At night, while the Trojans were sleeping, the Greeks emerged from their hiding place, attacked and were victorious.

It was undoubtedly one of the largest and most successful techniques famous history, if of course it's true. Homer mentions the horse in the Iliad, Virgil talks about it in the Aeneid. Evidence suggests that Troy actually existed, lending some credence to Homer's tales, and scholars have long examined how historically accurate some of the details of his stories are. According to one version, put forward by historian Michael Wood, the Trojan Horse was simply used as a battering ram to penetrate the city.

Fakes by Han van Meegeren

This lie is a classic scenario for pleasing critics. This man was an artist, but he felt underappreciated. He believed that he could perform the trick so that art experts would recognize him as a genius.

In the early 20th century, scholars debated whether a series of works depicting biblical scenes were actually painted by the great Dutch artist Johannes Vermeer. Van Meegeren immediately took advantage of this opportunity and went to work, forging one of these controversial paintings called “The Disciples at Emmaus.” With tireless attention to detail, he faked cracks and expertly aged his creation. He deliberately played on confirming the prejudices of critics who wanted to believe that Vermeer painted these paintings. And it worked: experts praised the paintings, recognizing them as genuine, and van Meegeren, meanwhile, began to sell more and more fake works of art. However, greed apparently surpassed his desire for praise, so he decided not to give himself away.

However, van Meegeren, who worked in the 1930s and 40s, made one serious mistake. He sold one of his paintings to a prominent member of the Nazi Party in Germany. After the war, the allies considered him a conspirator selling “national treasure” to the enemy. In this regard, he had to reveal his secret in order to remain free. In order to prove that the painting sold to the German was not a national treasure, he forged another work of art in the presence of the authorities.

He received a fairly light sentence of one year, but two months after the trial he died of a heart attack.

Bernie Madoff scheme

When Bernie Madoff admitted that his investment firm was “one big lie,” he was lying a little. In 2008, he told how he seized $50 billion from investors who trusted him with their savings. Madoff used a Ponzi scheme to keep his firm afloat for more than 10 years.

This deception scheme is named after Charles Ponzi, who used similar tricks in the early 20th century. The system worked as follows: the combinator promises investors great benefits, but instead of investing the money, he keeps part of it for himself and uses the rest to pay off debts to other investors.

Madoff didn't invent this lie, he modified it slightly. Firstly, he managed to extract a record amount of money by following this scheme. He also managed to complete the scheme in a record amount of time. As a rule, such scams ended quickly, since it was always necessary to find more and more investors. Moreover, this lie is especially shocking because Madoff was a highly respected and respected expert in the financial industry. Compare him to Charles Ponzi, who was an ex-con when he came up with this scheme.

False Anastasia Anna Anderson

With the onslaught of the Russian revolution, existence royal family was disgusted by the policies of the Bolsheviks. In 1918, they destroyed the Romanov royal family - Tsar Nicholas II, his wife, son and four daughters with the goal that in the future none of the heirs would revive public rallies in their support and in any way lay claim to power.

Rumors soon surfaced that some members of the royal family had escaped and survived. As one might expect, the appearance of “one of them” was not long in coming. Anna Anderson was the most famous of all the false Anastasias. In 1920, Anderson was hospitalized after attempting suicide; upon regaining consciousness, she confessed that she was Princess Anastasia, the youngest daughter of the royal family. She stood out among similar false princesses in that she was very similar to the real Anastasia and knew many details about the family and life at court.

Despite the fact that a very small number of relatives and acquaintances who knew Anastasia believed Anderson, the majority still considered her a liar. In 1927, a former roommate stated that her name sounded like Franziska Schanzkowska, and not Anna, and certainly not Anastasia. But this did not stop Anderson; she continued to impersonate Anastasia in an attempt to profit from it. Ultimately, she became completely entangled in legal proceedings that lasted for decades, however, she did not renege on her words until her death in 1984. Many years later, at an autopsy of what turned out to be the remains of the royal family, DNA testing confirmed that she had lied. In 2009, experts finally confirmed that all the remains had been discovered, and that not a single member of the royal family escaped execution in 1918.

Titus Oates Plot to Assassinate Charles II

By the time Titus Oates conceived the plot, he already had a tarnished reputation for deceit and trickery. He was excluded from several best schools England, as well as from the navy team. Oates was even convicted of perjury, but escaped imprisonment. However, his biggest lie was yet to come.

Raised by an Anabaptist minister and a Protestant, Oates went to Cambridge to study Anglican precepts. After committing an offense, he was expelled, but began to move in Catholic circles, while boasting about his lack of education and pretending to be his own. With the support of fellow anti-Catholic Israel Tonge, he entered "enemy territory" by entering a Catholic seminary. In fact, he entered two seminaries, but was kicked out of both. But that's not important. By this time, he had gathered enough inside information and names to strike.

In 1678, Oates himself came up with and allegedly himself uncovered a conspiracy in which the Jesuits planned the assassination of King Charles II. The idea was that they wanted to replace Charles with his Catholic brother James. After this, for about three more years the panic did not subside, anti-Catholic sentiments were everywhere, and 35 people were executed.

After Charles died in 1685, James became ruler and put Oates on trial for libel. Oates was convicted, pilloried and sentenced to prison. He managed to spend only a few years in prison when, in 1688, a wave of revolution swept across England. James was dismissed, and Oates was pardoned and even given a pension.

Piltdown Man

Since Charles Darwin published his groundbreaking work On the Origin of Species in 1859, scientists have scrambled to discover fossil evidence of extinct human ancestors. They sought to find the so-called "missing links" in order to fill the gaps that existed at that time in the timeline of human evolution. While archaeologist Charles Dawson thought he had found the missing link in 1910, he had actually stumbled upon one of the biggest hoaxes in history.

The discovery was the Piltdown man. Then, in the Piltdown quarry in Sussex (England), parts of a skull and a jaw with molars were found. Dawson brought his find to the famous paleontologist Arthur Smith Woodward, who spoke about the authenticity of the remains until his death. Although this discovery and became known throughout the world, however, the lie that lay at the heart of everything gradually surfaced. In subsequent decades, other major finds proved that Piltdown Man did not fit into the history of human evolution. In 1950, tests showed that the skull was only about 600 years old, and the jaw appeared to belong to an orangutan.

Some kind of knowledgeable person arranged everything skillfully.

The scientific world has been deceived. But who was behind all this fraud? There were many suspects, including Dawson himself. Today, most experts are inclined to believe that it was Martin Hinton, a museum employee who was present when the remains were discovered.

Dreyfus affair

Similar to the conspiracy invented by Titus Oates, this scandal was built on a lie that had a significant impact on national politics, and the hatred generated by these lies lived on for a long period of time. Alfred Dreyfus was a Jewish officer in the French army in the late 19th century when he was accused of treason for selling military secrets to Germany.

After widespread publicity about his case, authorities sentenced him to life imprisonment on Devils Island, and anti-Semitic groups used his personality as an example of anti-state Jewish sentiment. However, suspicions still arose that the incriminating letters were in fact fakes and that the real culprit was Major Esterhazy. When the French authorities decided to hush up the case, the writer Emile Zola accused the army of covering up the criminal.

As a result, a scandal broke out between Dreyfus's supporters, who wanted to reopen the case, and his opponents. Moreover, both sides talked little about the guilt or innocence of Dreyfus; it was more about principles. During the 12-year period of confrontation, many anti-Semitic groups disintegrated, and political priorities changed.

After Major Hubert Joseph Henry was given access to key materials in the case and committed suicide, the newly elected Cabinet finally reopened the case. The court found Dreyfus guilty again, however, he later received a pardon from the president. A few years later, Dreyfus was found not guilty by a civil appeals court, and he continued his military career and fought honorably in World War I. Meanwhile, this scandal has changed the face of French politics.

Clinton and Lewinsky case

In January 1998, journalist Matt Drudge reported sensational news that turned out to be true. US President Bill Clinton had an affair with intern Monica Lewinsky. While everything was based only on suspicion, Clinton publicly denied the charges, and he lied under oath and perjured himself, which served as the basis for impeachment.

And the truth emerged as follows. Paula Jones was an employee of an Arkansas firm when then-Governor Bill Clinton allegedly harassed her. She later sued him for sexual harassment. In an attempt by lawyers to prove Clinton's guilt, they contacted former White House secretary and Lewinsky confidant Linda Tripp. Tripp had recordings of telephone conversations with Monica, where she talked about her affair with Clinton. The lawyers then harassed Clinton, asking numerous questions, and eventually forced him to tell the truth under oath, which he, of course, did not do.

During the wide publicity of the case, prosecutor Kenneth Starr was called to court, and Clinton finally confessed to everything. Based on the Starr report, the House voted to impeach Clinton not only for perjury, but also for obstruction of justice. Despite the scandal, Clinton's rating among the American public is currently quite high. The Senate later cleared him of the charges. However, in the eyes of many Americans, his reputation remained tarnished.

Watergate scandal

Two decades before the Clinton-Lewinsky scandal, another American President fell into a web of lies, and this story had a devastating impact on the country.

In the summer, shortly before President Richard Nixon's successful re-election, five men were caught breaking into the Democratic National Committee headquarters at the Watergate Hotel. When details of the case emerged the following year, it became clear that officials close to Nixon had ordered the installation of wiretapping equipment there. Next, the question arose of whether Nixon knew about this affair, whether he covered them up, or whether he himself planned this affair.

In response to suspicions leveled at him, Nixon maintained that he knew nothing and that he was not a fraud. However, this lie has returned. When it became clear that private White House conversations were also being recorded, the investigative committee released the tapes. Nixon's refusal on the basis of "executive privilege" to release the contents of the conversations brought the case all the way to the US Supreme Court, which ruled that the contents of the conversations should be disclosed.

In the end, it turned out that Nixon knew much more about the case than he said. After impeachment was initiated, Nixon resigned. This scandal left an indelible mark on American politics and helped, to put it mildly, not the most successful person, Jimmy Carter, to come to the presidency a few years later.

Big lie: Nazi propaganda

By the time Nazism emerged in Germany in the 1930s, anti-Semitism was nothing new. Even then, Jews suffered from a centuries-long history of persecution and infringement of their rights. And although the Nazis perpetuated their theory, this time the lie had the most devastating consequences. As never before, anti-Semitism began to manifest itself in large-scale national policies that called for the elimination of Jews from the face of the earth.

To achieve this goal, Adolf Hitler and his propaganda minister Joseph Goebbels launched a massive campaign to convince the German people that the Jews were the enemy. Having complete power over the press, they blamed the Jews for all of Germany's problems, including the defeat in the First World War. They also claimed that in the Middle Ages, Jews ritually killed Christian children and used their blood to make bread to eat at Passover.

By scapegoating the Jewish nation, Hitler and his cronies orchestrated the “Big Lie.” This theory suggests that no matter the size of a lie, a person will believe it if it is repeated repeatedly. Hitler said that all people tell little lies, but few dare to tell a colossal one. Because the big lie seems so unrealistic, people are sure to believe it. This is what Hitler thought.

This theory helps us understand why so many lies have existed throughout history.

10 Greatest Changes of the Last Millennium

For those who like to spend time usefully and even like to have fun usefully, I recommend going to real quests in Moscow, this is the same thing as playing on a PC or on a phone, but in reality.

According to one myth, young George Washington once cut down a cherry tree and boldly admitted it, saying, "I can't lie." This story shows how much respect Americans have for their treasured first president and integrity in general. Unfortunately, in the annals of history one can find 10 dishonest scoundrels for every honest hero who resembles Washington.

The truth is supposed to set you free. But for many, deception is the key to money, fame, revenge or power, and this proves how tempting it can be to use. In the past, such aspirations often led to the emergence of complex hoaxes, perjuries and forgeries, which had a huge impact on further development history of mankind.

Below we will tell you about some of the most colossal and significant deceptions in history. Although such a list can hardly be called comprehensive, we still tried to include various deceptions and treacherous acts that influenced politics, science and even art. As a result, many innocent victims were killed, rescue plans were ruined, legitimate research was hampered, and (most distressingly) the faith in the integrity of those around us was destroyed.

But let's skip further ado and finally delve into the details of one of the oldest and most successful deceptions known to everyone.

Trojan horse

If you believe that all means are fair in love and war, then this deception can be called the most forgivable of all. When the Trojan Paris eloped with Helen, the wife of the Spartan king, war broke out. It raged for 10 long years, after which the Trojans believed that they had finally defeated the Greeks. At that moment, they hardly suspected that the Greeks had another ace up their sleeve.

Coming up with an ingenious solution, the Greeks built a huge wooden horse with a hollow belly in which warriors could hide. They then convinced their enemies that the structure was an atoning sacrifice on their part, whereupon the Trojans gladly accepted it and carried the horse inside their fortified city. At night, when the Trojans were sleeping, the Greeks sitting inside the horse got out of it through a secret door, launched a decisive offensive and defeated the Trojans.

Undoubtedly, this was one of the biggest and most successful tricks known to history, of course, if all this is true. Homer mentions this event in the Iliad, and Virgil tells the story in the Aeneid. Today we know that Troy really existed, which suggests that Homer's stories were indeed based on real events. However, scientists are still trying to determine how historically accurate their details are. One theory about the Trojan horse was put forward by historian Michael Wood, who suggested that it was simply a horse-shaped battering ram used by the Greeks to enter the city.

In any case, the story has a strong place in the imagination of Westerners and is still perceived by them as a warning to beware of enemies bearing gifts.

Han van Meegeren and his forgeries of Vermeer paintings

The impetus for this deception was a classic case, or rather an ordinary desire - to please critics. Han van Meegeren was an artist who believed that he was underestimated and decided to deceive experts in order to convince them of his genius.

At the beginning of the 20th century, scholars debated a certain series of paintings by Vermeer depicting biblical scenes. Van Meegeren decided to use this opportunity and set to work, carefully imitating one of the controversial paintings, which he called “Christ at Emmaus.” With his characteristic meticulousness, he faked the cracks and even the hardening of the oil, characteristic of centuries-old paintings. He deliberately chose to play on the confirmation bias of critics who wanted to believe that Vermeer painted these scenes. And it worked: experts accepted the painting as genuine, and van Meegeren made a killing by creating and selling even more fake Vermeer works. Greed apparently overcame his initial desire to hear praise from experts, and he decided not to deprive himself additional income.

However, van Meegeren, working in the 1930s and 1940s, made one big mistake. He sold one of his paintings to a prominent member of the Nazi Party in Germany. After the war, the states of the anti-fascist coalition considered him a conspirator engaged in the sale of “national property” to the enemy. In light of unforeseen events, van Meegeren had to reveal his deception, otherwise he could lose his freedom. In order to prove that the painting was not a national treasure at all, he had to paint a copy of it in the presence of government officials.

He got off with a light sentence of one year in prison, but died of a heart attack two months after the trial.

Ponzi pyramid created by Bernard Madoff

When Bernard Madoff admitted that his investment firm was "just one big lie," it was a gross understatement. In 2008, he admitted that he had fraudulently obtained about $50 billion from investors who had entrusted their savings to him. Madoff used a Ponzi scheme to commit fraud for more than ten years.

Here we are talking about the classic deception of the notorious Carl Ponzi, who used a self-invented trick at the beginning of the 20th century. Here's how it works: the financial schemer promises investors huge returns, but instead of investing the money they put in, he pockets some of it for himself and uses the proceeds from the new investments to make specified payments to earlier investors.

Madoff did not develop this scheme at all, but he managed to extend its use for an incredibly long period of time. On the one hand, he earned a record amount of money from this financial pyramid. But on the other hand, he also ensured that it lasted much longer than most Ponzi schemes. As a rule, such scams fell apart quite quickly, as they required the schemers to constantly find more and more investors. Moreover, this deception was quite shocking because Madoff, as the former chairman of NASDAQ, was previously an experienced and respected expert in the financial industry (whereas Carl Ponzi began developing his scheme as a petty ex-con).

Anna Anderson, who claimed to be Anastasia Romanova

With the advent of the Russian Revolution, the existence of the royal family became impossible in the eyes of the Bolsheviks. In 1918, they killed the Romanov royal family - Tsar Nicholas II, his wife, son and four daughters. And all this in order to make sure that there is no longer a legitimate heir to the throne in the world who will be able to restore his rights after a while and force the public to support him.

However, soon after the execution, rumors began to spread that some members of the royal family had escaped and survived. As one would expect, after this, dubious contenders for the throne began to appear. The most popular of these was the infamous "Anna Anderson". In 1920, Anderson was hospitalized after attempting suicide and confessed to being Princess Anastasia, the youngest daughter of the royal family. She stood out among the other contenders because she actually bore some resemblance to the deceased princess and was impressive in her detailed knowledge of the Russian royal family and life at court.

Although several relatives and acquaintances who previously knew Anastasia believed Anderson's words, most were unable to believe the veracity of her story. In 1927, Anderson's former partner said that her name was Franziska Schanckowska, not Anna and certainly not Anastasia. However, this did not stop Anderson from posing as a celebrity in an attempt to cash in on the royal inheritance. Ultimately, she failed to prove her case trials, which dragged on for decades, but never abandoned her story until her death in 1984. Several years later, after the remains of the royal family were exhumed, DNA tests confirmed that she was an impostor. In 2009, experts were finally able to confirm that all the remains found by archaeologists were genuine, and that not a single member of the royal family managed to escape execution in 1918.

Titus Oates and his plot to assassinate Charles II

By the time he came up with his infamous plot, Titus Oates was already known for his penchant for cheating and deception. He was expelled from several prestigious schools in England, as well as from the navy. In addition, Oates was convicted of perjury and managed to avoid prison time. But the biggest lie was yet to come.

Raised as an ardent Protestant by an Anabaptist preacher, Oates entered Cambridge under the guise of a young man wishing to become an Anglican priest. After committing numerous official violations, he was fired from the Anglican parish and began communicating with representatives of Catholic circles, pretending to convert to another faith. With the support of fellow anti-Catholic Israel Tong, Oates entered enemy territory by establishing a Catholic seminary. In fact, he belonged to two different seminaries, both of which expelled him after a while. But none of this mattered much to him. By that time, he had collected enough classified information and learned a lot of the right names to start wreaking huge havoc around him.

In 1678, Oates invented and pretended to independently uncover a conspiracy according to which the Jesuits were allegedly planning to assassinate King Charles II. The idea was that they wanted to replace Charles with his brother, the Catholic James. This led to three years of panic, fueled by anti-Catholic views, and the execution of about 35 people.

After Charles died in 1685, James became king and decided to have Oates convicted of perjury. Oates was pilloried and imprisoned. However, he spent only a few years in prison, after which the Glorious Revolution swept across England in 1688. Once James lost power, Oates escaped with a pardon and a lifetime pension.

Piltdown Man

After Charles Darwin published his groundbreaking On the Origin of Species in 1859, scientists began searching for fossils of extinct human ancestors. They sought to find these so-called "missing links" to fill in the gaps in the human evolutionary timeline. When archaeologist Charles Dawson discovered what he thought was the missing link in 1910, he actually discovered what would become one of the biggest hoaxes in history.

His discovery was called "Piltdown Man", which consists of pieces of a skull and jaws with molars. They were found in the Pitdlelawn quarry in Sussex, England. Dawson brought his find to the eminent paleontologist Arthur Smith Woodward, who insisted on its authenticity until the end of his days.

Although the discovery gained worldwide fame, the mystery of the “Piltdown Man” was slowly but surely solved. In subsequent decades, other major discoveries suggested that the much-discussed “artifact” did not fit into the history of human evolution. By 1950, tests showed that the skull was only 600 years old, while the jaw actually belonged to an orangutan. Apparently, some clever man put these various parts together, including slightly filing and antiquing the teeth.

Thus, the entire scientific world was deceived. So who was responsible for the fraud? In fact, many people were suspected of this, even Dawson himself. Today, however, most of the evidence points to Martin Hinton, a volunteer working at the museum at the time of the discovery. In a suitcase with his initials, bones were found, aged in exactly the same way as the Piltdown Man fossils. He may have wanted to frame his boss, Arthur Smith Woodward, for not paying him his weekly salary.

Dreyfus affair

Like the conspiracy invented by Titus Oates, this scandal was built on lies, but managed to significantly influence national politics, and was perpetuated by many years of hatred spreading through society. In the late 19th century, Alfred Dreyfus was a Jewish officer in the French army when he was accused of treason, namely selling military secrets to Germany.

After his widely publicized trial, authorities sentenced him to life imprisonment on Devil's Island. Following this, anti-Semitic groups began to use him as a clear example of unpatriotic Jews. However, some people have become suspicious that the incriminating letters are in fact fake and that the real culprit is Major Esterhazy. When the French authorities decided to hide this information, the writer Emile Zola accused the army of deliberately concealing a war crime.

The scandal erupted in the struggle between the so-called Dreyfusards, who want to achieve the resumption of trials, and the anti-Dreyfusards, who oppose it. On both sides, the debate was not so much about Dreyfus's innocence as about the principles of the investigation. Throughout the dramatic 12-year dispute, the country saw many violent anti-Semitic uprisings and pro-Dreyfusard political forces called for reform.

After it was discovered that Major Hubert Joseph Henry had forged key documents in the case, he committed suicide, and the newly elected Cabinet finally decided to undertake a review of the case. The court again found Dreyfus guilty, but he soon received a pardon from the president himself. A few years later, a civilian appeals court found Dreyfus not guilty, allowing him to continue his distinguished career in the army and fight with honor in the First World War. Meanwhile, this scandal served as the basis for significant changes in political system France.

Clinton-Lewinsky case

In January 1998, citizen journalist Matt Drudge told a sensational story that turned out to be completely true. US President Bill Clinton had an affair with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. When the first suspicions were expressed, Clinton publicly denied all accusations against him. As if these lies weren't enough, Clinton was also found to have lied under oath about an affair, which amounted to perjury and was grounds for impeachment.

The truth came out in a very unexpected way. Paula Jones was an Arkansas government employee when then-Governor Clinton allegedly made an indecent proposal to her. She later sued him for sexual harassment. In an effort to prove that Clinton actually exhibited such behavior, lawyers decided to discover actual evidence of his sexual relations. During their investigation, they discovered Linda Tripp, a former White House secretary and Lewinsky's confidant. Tripp kept recordings of telephone conversations in which Lewinsky talked about her affair with Clinton. The lawyers began asking Clinton specific questions and backed him into a corner, thereby proving that he had denied the affair under oath.

During the widespread publicity of the scandal, prosecutor Kenneth Starr subpoenaed Bill Clinton, where the latter finally admitted to his relationship with Lewinsky. Based on the Starr report, the House voted to impeach Clinton, based not only on perjury, but also on obstruction of justice. Despite the scandal, Clinton managed to maintain relatively high approval ratings among the American public, and was subsequently acquitted by the Senate on the sex charge. However, in the eyes of many Americans, his reputation remained tarnished.

Watergate scandal

Two decades before the Clinton scandal, another US president was caught in a web of lies, and the controversy that arose over the issue had very damaging consequences for the country as a whole.

In the summer before President Richard Nixon's successful re-election, five people were caught breaking into the US headquarters. National Committee Democratic Party, located in the Watergate Hotel. As more details emerged over the next year, it became clear that officials close to Nixon had ordered the burglars to install wiretapping devices located at the headquarters. Soon after this, the question arose about whether Nixon knew about this and covered up the crime or independently gave such an order.

In response to suspicions expressed against him, Nixon denied his participation in the case, claiming that he knew nothing. In front of 400 Associated Press editors, he famously declared, "I'm not a crook." He said that he had never tried to make a profit from civil service, but this one statement later came to personify his entire political career.

It was an outright lie, which subsequently haunted him throughout his life. When it became clear that private White House conversations were indeed recorded, the investigative committee called for the existing tapes to be presented in court. Nixon's refusal on the basis of "executive privilege" took the case all the way to the US Supreme Court, which ruled that he had to show the judges all the tapes he had.

The tapes were clear evidence implicating Nixon in the cover-up of the scandal. They showed that he apparently knew much more about the crime than he claimed. After impeachment was initiated, Nixon resigned. The scandal left an indelible scar on the American political scene and helped bring outsider Jimmy Carter to Washington, who assumed the presidency a few years later.

The Big Lie: Nazi Propaganda

By the time Nazism arose in Germany in the 1930s, anti-Semitism was nothing new, far from it. The Jewish people have endured a long history of prejudice and persecution. And although the Nazis perpetuated centuries of lies, this time the deception led to very destructive consequences. As never before, anti-Semitism became a major priority in the national policy known as the “Final Solution,” which aimed to eliminate Jews from the face of the Earth.

To achieve this, Adolf Hitler and his German Minister of Education and Propaganda, Joseph Goebbels, launched a massive campaign to convince the German people that the Jews were their enemies. Armed with the press, they began to spread lies, blaming Jews for all of Germany's problems, including defeat in the First World War. One of the most outlandish claims, dating back to the Middle Ages, was that Jews ritually murdered Christian children and used their blood to bake the unleavened bread that was traditionally served during the Jewish Passover.

Using Jews as scapegoats, Hitler and his cronies orchestrated what they called the “big lie.” According to this theory, no matter how big a lie you make up (or rather, how big it is), people will believe it if you repeat it often enough. Everyone is capable of a little deception, Hitler reasoned, but only a few are capable of the courage to create a deception on a colossal scale. After all, such a big lie is so unlikely that people will be forced to believe it.

This theory helps us understand why so many large-scale deceptions happen in the world. However, in this article we only talked about some cases of incredible fraud; in fact, there are many more of them, and you will see for yourself if you carefully delve into the historical facts.

Everyone knows about Arkaim, it is no less popular than St. Petersburg, Moscow or Kazan. Say, somewhere in another region “Ufa”, not everyone even knows what it is and where, and some even think that the capital of Bashkortostan is Bashkiria. And here, you know, a small piece of land in the steppe with virtually no infrastructure became famous like this. If you haven't been there, you've definitely planned to go at least once or twice. Let's figure out whether this point of attraction is really that Place of Power and Miracles or is all this just someone's performance. I accidentally got to the bottom of the truth and found the organizers of this conspiracy about magic...

Like this ancient city looks like in aerial photography. But this is now, after excavations and reconstructions. We discovered this place relatively recently and by accident. In 1987, they planned to build the Bolshe-Karaganskoye reservoir in this area for agricultural and irrigation needs. According to the law, before flooding the area, it was necessary to carry out excavations. Archaeologists went there with reluctance, of course, who wants to rummage through an ordinary, boring steppe, where no one even lived in the foreseeable past. Students and schoolchildren were sent. They carried out an inspection, found nothing, and suddenly two idly staggering schoolchildren fell into some kind of hole, in which the remains of ancient dishes were discovered. It was a few kilometers from the expedition camp. We conducted a study - the characteristic terrain, the oldest settlement - 4000 years old. Archaeologists from all over the union were immediately sent there. The find is unique - there is water supply and sewerage, incredible for that time!

The ancient settlement was located above two underground sources that is why it has not been discovered until now. Usually people used to settle near the banks of rivers.

This is how the “apartments” were built in the settlement

Everyone is behind each other, but this wall is a meter wide. Notice the red and blue dots in each room. Each family had its own well with water and a fireplace on which they cooked food and at the same time heated their home. There is a brilliant detail here - the stove is connected by an air duct to a well. In this way, cold air from underground moved with warm air from the stove, and thus a constant draft was created, which did not allow the fireplace to go out. Some houses had three holes in the ground, presumably the third was used as a refrigerator cellar, that is, meat and dairy products were hung there.

Here two living quarters have been restored. We see the entrance and a huge common corridor, the pillars are roof supports, to the left and right there were enclosed sleeping places for each family member. Presumably then they lived in tribal communities - 20-30 people in one house.

There is a palisade fence and a ditch with water around the settlement, so they protected themselves from attack, but no traces of any battles were found. The cattle grazed outside the settlement. The people were sedentary. No money or signs of power were found here. All the dwellings are exactly the same, none of them resemble the more fashionable chambers of the Chapter. It is assumed that the toilets were located near the entrance to the “apartments”, from there the waste went underground through the sewerage outside the site. Near each entrance there is also a kind of vestibule, in which there was also a fireplace. That is, it is like a curtain of warm air. All the streets in this ancient settlement were in the form of rings, communicating with each other. As excavations have shown, people on the main street walked on a flooring made of logs. The flooring, in turn, was laid on a system of grooves in the ground, which during heavy rains allowed excess water to be drained directly into the ditch near the outer wall.

We had a wonderful guide, Maria, I highly recommend her - you will listen to her.

Almost no remains of people were found here, even in the necropolis, which was nearby, there were literally a couple of people, although about 1200 lived in the city. Archaeologists explain this by saying that people left the settlement and burned it. Here in the excavation section you can see a huge number of small coals in the soil.

They probably left because there was a drought and the livestock had nothing to eat. No mysticism. Only on a mountain nearby there is something like a pentagram on top. It is over this mountain that the sun rises.

The chief archaeologist decided to name this place after the name of the nearest high mountain Arkaim to make it sound beautiful. Although, in theory, Konoplyanka was right there nearby, they could have called it that way... Now pay attention to the circles on the map. All these are also recently discovered equally ancient settlements, in which excavations are currently underway. More than 20 pieces different shapes- rectangular and oval, there are no round ones yet. Perhaps one day crazy enlightened people from all over the world will travel to Ferchampenoise or oh, to Paris even!

But I promised to tell you how it happened that this place suddenly became something magical. And everything was very simple. Tamara Globa came there at the dawn of the nineties and said that she felt the unique energy of this place, that people from all over the world should come here for treatment and it was incredible!

Magic? No magic, subtle calculation... Archaeologists sat at these excavations and lamented that, anyway, now they would be told to collect all the excavation equipment for their museums and would still flood the area for the needs of the reservoir, because it is profitable. And then they began to think about how to attract tourists here and preserve the unique excavations. And then one bearded Muscovite historian named Pavel said that his wife should be invited here...

Nationally known astrologer Tamara Glob, so that she declares this place miraculous! By the way, Pavel took his wife’s surname.

All radio stations, newspapers and TV channels immediately announced this event. On a wave of love for esotericism and Kashpirovich, people rushed to the “blessed land” to look for miracles. The place became overgrown with legends as it went along. During the crisis years, people wanted to believe in miracles so much that they attributed incredible stories even spoons that suddenly disappeared and were suddenly found three minutes later. And away I went...

And here's more from there

Young and old came here from all over the country, desperately wanting to believe in a miracle. Previously unremarkable hills suddenly also became magical and acquired sacred significance. Some tourists, for fun, laid out a spiral of stones on one of them, and then suddenly the mountain became called Shamanka and everyone began to walk along this spiral, absolving themselves of their sins. A huge number of people of all religions are beating their foreheads against the mountain, we are greeting sunrises, muttering mantras, ordinary people, thanks to the extraordinary power of Faith and the Desire to feel at least something, suddenly began to either become pregnant due to infertility, or supposedly become enlightened and begin to live anew. But those esotericists who really felt and understood such things quickly realized that there is no magic on this Earth, but this is the best opportunity in the world to make money on fools who urgently need to open some chakras and clear the channel, or even two. IN en masse they organized trips here and “opened chakras” in batches for quite a lot of money.

The local head quickly and not very legally chewed up the land here, somehow he built tents, converted the archaeologists' trailers into hotels for tourists, and money flowed from them like a river. Up to 30 thousand tourists from May to September! Mainly Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Chelyabinsk, although 400-500 km are approximately equally far away.

We came here while passing through and after the end of the season. Quiet, wilderness, as if everyone here died out a long time ago, not in the sense of those who died out 4000 years ago, but as if, well, 20-30 years ago. The overall shabby appearance and the same trailers and buildings from the 90s are so sad.

If you suddenly are not an enlightened person and come here, you will say: “What the hell??? And for this I drove here for 6 hours? Here is this steppe, where there is one toilet on the street within a radius of several kilometers, not a single bush to pee on, a field , where it blows you away even in summer and there is no infrastructure, this is your Arkaim, a great place of power, are you fucking!

But such skeptics usually don’t come here, and the fact that they come here for miracles is very normal, moreover, they are even against anything being changed in their holy place, otherwise they will suddenly disturb the energy.

They live like this and don’t complain

We must pay tribute, they installed plastic windows in some trailers)))

Here they beautifully explain that Arkaim is translated as Arch-sky, im-earth, that is, the place where Earth and sky meet. That’s right, there really seems to be nothing more here, just steppe and steppe all around.

In fact, from the Turkic language - Arkaim is a mountain-ridge, a mountain-back. You remember that the name of the area was communized near one mountain.

This, too, once lived and was a hillock, no, damn it, it became the Mountain of Love! They say that if you sit on it with your bare butt, you will soon have sex... No, in fact they don’t say that, but their inventions are no closer to the truth.

At different times, various creators lived here and became enlightened. For example, a sculptor wanted to create a sculptor's alley. But some were taken to museums. The symbol of the unification of peoples remains here

And another horse, which the local enlightened people for some reason dragged to different places, apparently also healed, then dropped, the ears broke off. The sculptor was offended and cut out more tears from him.

The insanity grew stronger. We even found someone’s urn with ashes here. At least they buried it or scattered it...

This is a local service and store rolled into one. Showering outside and charging your phone are paid)))

This is what the Museum of Ancient Productions looks like...

Okay, despite the fact that the government of the Chelyabinsk region, having huge money from metallurgical plants, completely ignores the development of the infrastructure of Arkaim, local historians are still slowly accumulating more or less decent buildings. They are even building a hotel now. There are also a number of objects

Temir Kurgan is a restored ancestral tomb, an exact copy of the one explored in the Chesma district of the Chelyabinsk region

There is also a Cossack Estate, although this does not seem to relate to what was found here in the settlement

Furnace Museum

Tent Mill

And even clay dwellings from the Stone Age

Museum of Man and Nature

Many finds from excavations have been collected there and the ancient settlement has been reconstructed.

There are not so few objects, but they are scattered over a large area, up to every two or three kilometers.

I especially like the guarded parking lot in the map))))

In fact, from a historical point of view, I really like this place and the tour of the settlement was incredibly interesting, it’s a pity we didn’t go to the museums, since it’s not the season and everything is closed. Our guide Maria is a historian and lives here on shifts every summer, so no miracles have ever happened to her and other employees here. The hair on my belly hasn’t grown, my wings haven’t grown, and enlightenment still doesn’t come. Historians do not believe in any mysticism and even laugh at all these crowds in robes and beads, diligently dancing and spending the night on the mountains, however, on the holiday of Ivan Kupala, when there are especially many people here, they joyfully dance in circles with everyone because it’s fun.

But just recently, the remains of people with deformed skulls were dug up nearby....

Western ufologists immediately arrived and announced to the whole world that these were definitely ancient humanoids! To which local historians again chuckle and explain this by saying that there was simply a tribe for which it was fashionable to bandage children’s heads in a certain way in infancy, so that eventually people would grow up with elongated heads. But Western colleagues insist that this is a gray alien, the prototype of which we often see in films with a huge forehead and big eyes.

Fun work of archaeologists

Do I believe in Arkaim's potential? Yes, a cool historical site, if only the authorities of the Chelyabinsk region would take an example from Tatarstan and allocate budgets for the infrastructure of the area and the complete reconstruction of ancient dwellings. And I don’t think anything will suffer from this. On the contrary, he will win. When I come to Europe, I enjoy visiting restored historical castles and ancient excavations - it’s very cool!

And it’s also a shame that we have our own settlement, Ufa2, which is even older than the one in Tatarstan, it’s over a thousand years old!!! But it was safely drained, and in another ten years they will fill it up and definitely build a residential complex there. But how stupid! This is the coolest thing that attracts tourists! Oh, how they built Svyazhsk in Tatarstan and Bulgar is now being built almost from scratch, they even already have their own Taj Mahal

Yes, yes, it really is like that! I was there in May. This is what I mean by preserving history!

I wrote about Sviyazhsk - it’s possible. But everything comes from the initiative of the president. In their case, they were lucky twice - the former president is now restoring Bulgar, and the current one once ordered the reconstruction of Svyazhsk. This is what happens when a government loves its land.
