How many hours are allotted for driving in a driving school. How long does it take to study at a driving school for category B driving license? Driving lessons in category B

What will happen to the driver training system in the Russian Federation? Will it really be reformed or will it remain one of the most corrupt and inactive?

Will we continue to die on the roadsides of Russian roads because of the elementary ignorance of traffic rules by unfortunate drivers and their inability to adequately control their vehicle? Let's try to figure it out.

Long live the new terms of training in driving school! Hooray!

It's done! Finally! Such epithets should be given to the publication of the Order of the Mono-Educational Science of the Russian Federation of our country. Only a lazy journalist did not try to comment on this Order.

But sometimes the low qualification of the masters of the epistolary genre distorts the true picture of the reform and its consequences. This happened this time too, when a number of electronic and "paper" media began to search for information about how much cadets of driving schools will now study. And most importantly, some - the most gifted scribblers-paper-scribblers - find the very normative term of training in a driving school and even give real numbers.

And only specialists, to whom your humble servant equates himself, laugh at these encroachments, because ... For in the Order of the Ministry of Education and Science there is not and cannot be strictly established, normatively outlined terms of training in a driving school. NO! And don't argue! Why is everyone talking about their increase (along with an increase in tuition fees)? See point 2.

Why is there an increase in training time?

In fact, everything is banal simple. The fact is that the new programs provide for an increase in hours of both theoretical and practical training. In addition, a new procedure for the final qualification exam is finally introduced - in 2 stages: Stage 1 - passing the "theory" and "platform"; Stage 2 - surrender of the "city".

Where it leads? No no! I'm not talking about the growth of corruption in traffic police circles (although, what a sin, as they say, to conceal: this can lead to an increase in bribery). But now I'm talking about something else: all this will cause (should cause!) To life a physical increase in the duration of training in a driving school. Elementary logic: the number of hours for training increases - the period of training in a driving school increases.

How much to study for category B rights?

Of course, category B is the most "running". How much to study? A similar question is now being asked by those who could not jump into the door of the last car of the outgoing train, not having had time to learn from the old training programs. Let's satisfy their information hunger.

As already noted, strict terms of training are not spelled out in any legal act. And therefore - we turn to logic and mathematics.

So, the “pure” theoretical training course for drivers of this category is 130 hours. This means that the specified workload must be completed. But at what time? And here it all depends on the formula of the lesson in a particular driving school. Consider the 4 most popular alternatives (taking into account the fact that one theoretical lesson lasts an average of 3 hours).

Number of lessons per week (number of hours per week)
2 (6) 3 (9) 4 (12) 5 (15)
Number of weeks(number of months)theoretical training About 22 (more than 5) About 15 (more than 3.5) About 11 (more than 2.5) About 9 (more than 2)

To determine the minimum training period, we will use the last option - with 5-day training (15 hours per week). You must admit that this is unlikely and is possible only theoretically, but for the sake of objectivity, let's take this particular option, which is the shortest in terms of time. So it's been over 2 months now.

Simultaneously with the theoretical, practical classes are also held on the site. If all the requirements are met (especially the required number of training machines and instructors), the training of a group of cadets of 30 people will take about 1 month.

The calculation is very simple. The number of hours that you need to “roll back” with a group of 30 cadets is 720 (24 hours on the site x for 30 people).

The minimum number of cars in a driving school (according to the new calculation method) is 2 units that can be used in 2 shifts. 4 instructors on 2 training vehicles will be able to train a group in approximately 24 days (720 hours / (7.2 hours per shift x 4 instructors).

And this is provided that every cadet every day (except Sunday) will have to undergo practical training. As a result - almost a month. Consequently, practice on the site will not affect the increase in training time.

By the way, the difference between the program for “mechanics” and “automatic” is only 2 hours, which again is not significant when determining the timing of training in a driving school.

After graduation, a qualifying (or "internal" exam (1 day) should take place, and after that, the training group will expect an invitation to the first exam in the traffic police (one more day).

Let's take an ideal situation: the “internal” exam was passed the first time, and the driving school management rushed in advance, and the exam at the traffic police took place the very next day. And then again, the ideal scheme: everyone passed the exam at the traffic police and received the right to learn driving on the roads. So another 2 days have passed. Just two days!!! (This is ideal!).

Summarize. The first stage of training with an ideal scheme and the most intensive training took about 2.5 months.

The second stage is practical driving in real road conditions. Each cadet must skate another 32 hours, and this (using our previous methodology) is about a month. Do not forget to attribute here another "ideal" day - the surrender of the "city" to the traffic police.

Adding the training time for stages 1 and 2, we get 3.5 months. Thisthe minimum period of training in a driving school for a category B driver. But this option is possible only with the most intensive training (every working day for 3 hours!) And only under an ideal set of circumstances, when time is thoroughly saved on organizational issues - preparing and conducting exams.

In reality, most often in Russian driving schools they teach according to the formula 3 lessons (9 hours) per week. And it is easy to calculate that, on average, in such a structure of theoretical classes, the minimum pastime of each cadet under the vaults of a driving school will be no less than 5 months. Plus, this is by no means an ideal course of events in terms of organizational moments. As a result, the training will last almost six months. This is an average.

What is the duration of training in a driving school for programs of other categories of driver's license?

It seems that there is no need to go back to explaining the methodology for calculating training time for other categories. We simply state the facts, focusing on the average indicator (training according to the formula of 3 theoretical lessons, or 9 hours per week):

  • Category M - about 3.5 months;
  • Categories A and A1 - about 4 months;
  • Category B1 - about 4 months;
  • Category C - about 6 months;
  • Category C1 - about 5.5 months
  • Category D - about 7.5 months;
  • Category D1 - about 7 months;
  • Category BE - less than 1 month;
  • Category B1E - less than 1 month;
  • Category CE - about 1 month;
  • Category C1E - about 1 month;
  • Category DE - about 1 month.
  • Category D1E - about 1 month.

As can be seen from the examples, in relation to the "old" categories, there was an absolute increase in the terms of training in a driving school.

Retraining programs: a triumphant return

Immediately, we note that in 2010 the retraining programs were abolished. And in order for someone with an “open” category B to study for another category (for example, C), it was necessary to re-listen to the entire course of traffic rules, all basic safe driving, first aid. And, of course, pay for it in full.

Now retraining programs should speed up and reduce the cost of obtaining a driver's license of a different category in the presence of an existing one.

One note. Categories M, A and A1 do not participate in retraining: “from them” and “to them” you cannot retrain. Otherwise, the methodology for calculating the training time does not differ from the one that has already been used. So, the term of training in a driving school is from 2014 with retraining from:

  • B to C - about 2 months;
  • B on C1 - more than 1.5 months;
  • B to D - about 3 months;
  • B on D1 - about 2.5 months;
  • C to B - about 1 month;
  • C to D - about 2.5 months;
  • From to D1 - more than 2 months;
  • D to B - about 1.5 months;
  • D to C - about 1.5 months;
  • D on C1 - about 1.5 months.

Thus, compared to the previous practice, for those drivers who already have a driver's license of a certain category, it will be much faster and cheaper to learn a new one.

Professional development programs: innovations

In the modern Russian legal field, one innovation has appeared - advanced training from "automatic" to "mechanics". Drivers, having completed training on vehicles with automatic transmission, can now take refresher courses and drive a vehicle with manual transmission. All this is so simple, but so necessary.

instead of output. A real increase in the terms of training in a driving school

An analysis of the work programs for driver training allows us to draw one general conclusion. Yes, for novice drivers (cadets), an increase in the duration of training in a driving school should occur. And it is inevitable. And all because the training programs themselves have become more voluminous (both in terms of information and hours). This is the first.

And secondly, the procedure for taking the state qualification exam has changed, which must be taken in 2 stages:

  1. "theory" and "platform";
  2. "town".

However, it must be acknowledged that there will be no single term of study in a driving school across the country. This is impossible. The duration of training in each driving school for each program will be exclusively individual.

Everything will depend on the lesson formula, which includes the number of busy days per week and the number of hours allocated for each lesson (we considered an average formula with an ideal course of events).

    I consider myself very lucky! I studied law in the summer of 2014. It took 2 months for everything! 1.5 of them took practice and driving.

    I know for sure that if you teach some drivers at least for years in driving schools, they will continue to behave boorishly on the road. And another reason for bad driving is the quality of teaching. Of course, I can’t speak for all driving schools, but I observed students from 2-3 schools. Most importantly, teachers tell them to pay for their studies now, and we will teach them later. And here's what comes out of it.
    It’s scary to leave, and look, someone with fire eyes will drive into you. I think that you can’t teach driving in three months, you learn and improve all your life. In general, the road will teach, let beginners strive. And the terms of training in a driving school in terms of driving practice, I think, need to be slightly increased.

    Veronica Zaltsman

    Yes, I think it is necessary to tighten the exam itself, half of the students of driving schools do not go to theory anyway. Checked. She herself studied according to the old rules, the main thing on the roads is attention and sobriety. And half of the accident would not have happened. There is nothing to complain about the system.

    Lyokha

    Reforms are, of course, wonderful. But I don’t really understand what it means to improve the quality of education and how the terms of training in a driving school depend on this. Was it bad before? Or has something changed drastically? Roads are wider, cars are bigger, pedestrians are bolder??? Faced due to various circumstances with some driving schools, I concluded that the quality of training is more than sufficient to prepare a normal driver. And the problem is usually not with the teachers, but with the students. 30 percent want to finish their studies as soon as possible and try to somehow “speed up” this process. Usually, financially stimulating teachers. Another 30 stupidly score for study and come on the last day for the exam only. Again, there is financial incentive. And only the remaining 30% study normally, responsibly, and, as a result, they make worthy drivers. And, another 10% ... well, these simply cannot be learned, it is not given from above, so to speak. For example, some "blonde hens"))

    Evgeniy

    All the problems lie in the approach to learning in a driving school. I got my license in 2017. Complete indifference. School teachers, especially driving instructors, seriously argue that here, in a driving school, you still won’t really learn. And all the real experience and science - only when you start to drive yourself. That is, no one wants to teach you. You memorize tickets and exercises, take an exam, and then you will figure it out yourself. It is not the terms of training in a driving school that need to be changed, but the attitude towards students and the quality of training!

    Artem

    In my opinion, the period of study in our driving schools does not even matter - 2 weeks or 22. It's like with a university - you can go there for 6 years, and all the knowledge gained during this time will fit on one page of a notebook sheet 🙂 You need to focus on the quality of training and control knowledge, which should be multi-stage. So that only well-trained people with already proven knowledge were allowed to take the exam in the traffic police, and not those who paid and served two months (caught flies with their mouths). I have a neighbor like that, he passed the theory for a month, somehow he passed it on the 6th attempt, now he drives with exhaustion. What kind of driver will he be?

    Leonid

    Stepan

    The right decision to increase the training time for future drivers. There is no rush in this matter. As they say, the road does not forgive mistakes.

    Sergei

    Good news about the simplification of the process of retraining for other categories. I have been wanting to discover C and D for a long time, I will do it in the near future. By the way, who will tell you how much it will cost to get an additional category?

    Elena V.

    I don’t know how they passed exams before (I already studied according to the new system), but the fact that now theory and practice are taken separately is definitely a plus. This allows you to better prepare for the exam by tuning in to certain aspects.

    And I also consider the number of hours of training to be optimal. At the same time, I would not say that the amount of theoretical material is so great. And the fact that now it has become better to assimilate, this is also a plus.

    In my case, it allowed me to pass my manual car driving test on the first try. Therefore, I do not understand the whining of some commentators.

    Nicholas

    At one time, we studied at a driving school for six months at B, C - three months of theory, three - driving. After such practice, only the lazy could not pass. What happened in the 90s? I knew some driving schools - they managed in a week, and then such boobies on the road shook their rights. They are doing the right thing by increasing the term of training in driving schools and weeding out “left” institutions.

    Maksim

    Undoubtedly, the increase in the terms of driver training is an important aspect in the legislation of the Russian Federation. But all this is good in theory, but in practice everything is different. I don’t know how it is in your cities, but in our province, no matter how well you drive, the “city” is always brought down. I drove my father’s car from the age of 15, at 19 I went to take my driving license with 4 years of experience, the theory was without problems, I didn’t have time to go to the city, I immediately had to retake it. In my defense, I can say that I drove quite well. So something needs to be changed further, with regards to the “teachers” themselves.

    Natalia

    They bring down the traffic police, they have their own statistics on delivery-failures. This is another topic. But the training should be continuous. Nobody can learn to drive well and safely in two months. This is high self-esteem. It takes practice, and that takes time. It is necessary to return the car case to schools and not outside the classroom, but in compulsory subjects.

    Igor

    Received rights more than 15 years ago. Cars are completely different now. On the machine, with packers and other devices. Why take so long to learn?

    Maria

    The term of study will be increased and the price tag will immediately be broken twice. There will be fewer applicants, and then only traffic jams. I am for!

    Victoria

    Personally, it seems to me that increasing the duration of training in a driving school will be an effective method. I received my driver's license in 2012. (the training period was about 2 months) for about half a year it posed a big threat to motorists.

    Julia

    I passed the exam in 2 stages 6 years ago. First the theory, then the next day the site and the city.
    It is necessary not only to increase the hours of theory and practice, but to be allowed to drive with an instructor only after passing an internal exam on traffic rules. This will be more efficient

    Venya

    In my opinion, they bought rights in our country and will continue to buy. Here, at least how much you study, at least a month, at least ten. On the other hand, those who really study will certainly benefit from it. I also wanted to pay attention to those who teach. And then sometimes there are such inadequate ones, whom it is time to re-teach themselves. Here, as in that saying - cadres decide everything!

  • Evgeniy

    Increase - it's right, it is necessary to improve the quality of education, to practice certain maneuvers more. But it is even more important to choose the right teachers, especially instructors. With some, before the exam, students only have time to ride around the city a couple of times, and in the column it says that they left in full. And here everything is only on the conscience and professionalism of the instructor

    Laura

    I have a girlfriend. We both have about a year of driving experience. She studied at a driving school, and I got a license ... well, in general, in a different way)). But, without false modesty, no one ever reproached me on the road, did not yell, did not call me a chicken, did not get into an accident, did not create serious emergencies. But a friend ... She comes after each trip disheveled, disheveled and angry. Each time she complains that she was again yelled at, insulted and all that. Indeed, once I drove with her to the store and ... well, fuck her, I’d better walk on foot. I ask, how did you study? After all, in fact, I didn’t miss a single class, I passed the exam. Nonsense. Maybe the training period should be extended?

    Sergei

    It’s just that in our country they are used to estimating everything in numbers and%. New programs are another paper move for the performance of officials. There is a very simple way out - to combine driving with the theory of traffic rules while driving, devoting most of the training to this. It is necessary to develop a special gadget for training cars for passing exams while driving, and then as usual. But in Russia it is possible to change something only by changing the entire system of government.

    Oleg

    I learned to drive a car 30 years ago. True, then I decided to take my driving license as an external student, and now I realize that I did the right thing, because after so many years I saw how my son studied at a modern driving school. Then I prepared the theory myself, and on driving I approached and agreed with the driving instructor. It was winter and now I am very grateful to that instructor for the experience that he gave me. He chose the days when students at the driving school could not be taken to practical classes because of snow, ice, and traveled these days with me. He taught me everything that has helped me for over 30 years. Thanks to him, I feel confident and calm on any road. And the way they taught my son is horror. I think driving should be the main discipline in a driving school and its hours should be increased significantly

    Irina

    I think that for some, even 4 months is not enough. How many do not teach, but in the end they buy the rights. And because of these, it's scary to go out on the road. She studied many years ago and studied for only 2 months. But for me it was like an addition, since before driving school I already knew how to drive and independently learned all the rules and signs.

    Katia

    I'm going to study myself now. Let the new rules become tougher, but I think the preparation will be better. For me, 4 months is still not enough. The more you study, the more confidence you get, the easier it is to pass the exam.

    Galina

    I studied 2 months in a driving school. The theory was told to us in 7 hours for 10 tr. instead of 130. I taught myself. Passed the first time. And learning to drive is generally a separate song - 16 hours for 10t.r. instead of 56 hours. As a result - zero modulo and retake in 3 months. I don’t understand who controls the activities of driving schools and the quality of driver training? So people are beating on the roads like flies on glass. It is possible to increase the training time on paper, but in reality it is a question.

    novel

    To study for category B for 4 months, what is it? Why so long? You can’t train the stupid and lazy even in such a time, but the smart ones come to schools already prepared, but lay out the money (decent money)! At one time I came to a driving school, I already knew how to drive a car calmly, I just had to learn the rules! I heard that passing exams can go to driving schools, some kind of reform is being prepared!

    Seryoga

    I wanted to give up, now I've changed my mind.
    3 months to rent?! Can you imagine, if the term increases, then the money will cost more. I want it on the machine and in the end at least 35,000 — for what?
    Give me a license, I will gladly study myself and, accordingly, I will not go out on the road until I learn.

    Egor

    I look at some drivers and wonder if they even studied at a driving school? If so, why?

    Anya

    I believe that it is not necessary to increase the training period, since driving skills can be learned in a shorter period if a person has a craving and ability for this.

    Sergei

    First of all, it is necessary to take experienced, competent, without bad habits Training Instructors who are not sitting on their phones. Today, they themselves have a very low level of training - especially young instructors. They sometimes behave the same way both near and behind the wheel of a car. They imagined themselves to be the kings of the road, there is rudeness and disrespect for other road users.

    Macarius

    We need to discuss this problem less. The term of training in driving a car must be at least two months, provided that the cadet additionally finds an opportunity to roll hours. At one time I studied for category B and C, every day for five months. True, both metalwork and car repair were taught. They also rented out the site and the city. And no one whined, they knew that they had to learn how to drive a car, and not just take courses.

    Artem

    The duration of training must be such as to guarantee the acquisition of knowledge and skills necessary to pass exams and obtain a driving license. And not how. I think so.

Relatively recently, some mandatory changes have been made to the methodology of teaching driving. It should be emphasized that the rules are binding. In other words, if representatives of a driving school are trying to explain to you that the number of hours of driving practice can be reduced, you should understand that you are being blatantly deceived.

The price for driving school courses depends on the category as well. The following publication will describe the main innovations that have been included in the rank of mandatory after 2014. It should be noted that in 2017 the rules for training were somewhat adjusted.

Today, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation has drawn up exemplary methods of teaching driving. Each driving school must necessarily form its own programs in maximum, but incomplete compliance.

The number of mandatory hours of driving practice is now 50. At the same time, driving schools can either adhere to the above recommendation or increase the number of practice hours.

In most cases, increasing driving practice is only recommended for those who experience learning difficulties. In addition, a driving school may postpone the stage of departure of a driving school cadet to the city until it is sure of its practical skills.

In addition, if earlier, in order to obtain rights, it was only necessary to pass an exam at the traffic police, today the above is not enough. Self-taught students will in principle not be allowed to take the exams.

It is mandatory to present documents stating that the cadet has completed specialized training at a driving school (naturally, we are talking about the category for which the exam will be held).

  • astronomical (equal to 60 minutes);
  • academic (equal to 40 minutes).

The instruction of the Ministry of Education was issued under academic hours. This should be taken into account when a representative of a driving school calls a smaller number of hours. Perhaps he simply calculates learning in astronomical hours.

The inspector will clearly explain how to pass the rights to a driving school the first time:

Driving a car is directly related to the perfect knowledge of practice. Theory will never teach smooth movement, the ability to determine the distance between cars and a thousand other tricks, without knowing which you will not go far. For this reason, the driving school pays so much attention directly to driving. However, there may be pitfalls here, and when choosing an educational institution for obtaining rights, you need to carefully study the course program. Do not be afraid to be meticulous, ask all the questions you are interested in, because in the end you get paid.

Any driving school knows how many driving hours are required by law and in most cases adheres to these rules, but in fact the numbers in different centers may still differ.

In 2014, the Ministry of Education and Science “recommended” to increase the duration of the practical module from 30 to 50 hours. However, the number on paper and the total duration of lessons in reality may differ in meaning. How does this happen? Let's take a closer look.

What are driving hours?

  • There are academic and astronomical clocks. The first last 45 minutes, the second - 60 minutes. Be sure to pay attention to this when studying the conditions of training in a driving school. If the program does not contain a detailed transcript, ask.
  • Typically, driving hours include the time of the internal exam at the training center and the exam at the traffic police. In total, this is approximately 8 hours.
  • The first three lessons often take place on simulators. This is another minus 6 hours of driving in a real car. Usually one driving lesson takes 2 hours.
  • Some schools themselves reduce the amount of practice, arguing that the student is not sufficiently prepared to go on the main road. As a result, the number of driving hours is further reduced.

As you can see, despite the law, the practical module can be different and consist of less than 50 hours. Be careful when choosing a driving school. Your ability to handle the machine in the future depends on the quality and time of training.

Always remember that any vehicle is a source of increased danger, and you are responsible for the life and health of the people around you.

The length of time you study at a driving school depends on various factors, such as which category of driving you are studying, how you organize your schedule, and so on.

Driving lessons in category B

So, for example, the theoretical training course for category B drivers is 130 hours. It is during this period of time that the entire theoretical material of the course is studied. The time frame for which the training will stretch depends on the form of classes that you prefer.

The number of lessons per week can be different: these are 2 lessons, and 3, and 4, and even 5. Each lesson, on average, lasts about 3 hours. Thus, in order to master the theory of driving, you will need from 2 to 5 months, depending on the density of the training schedule.

As soon as the theoretical part is mastered, you can start hours of practical training.;

Each future driver must “roll back on the site” for about 24 hours. Then you need to master the city routes, which will take another 32 hours.

By this time, it is worth adding hours for passing exams, both internal and in the traffic police.

Driving instruction in other categories;

As for passing on the rights in other categories, future drivers of mopeds and scooters will have to learn the least. The whole process; category M training will be 122 hours, which includes; 100 hours of theory, 18 hours of practice and 4 hours for exams.

The process of learning to drive in category "A" or "A1" will take 130 hours, of which 108 hours are theoretical lectures, 18 hours are practical classes and 4 hours are allotted for the exam. The term of training for obtaining the rights of category "C" or "C1" takes the same time as learning to drive a car. Those who want to master driving skills in category “D” will have to study the longest - 257 hours.

Surrender by external

In fact, it is impossible to reduce the number of hours for teaching theory and practice by law: each enrolled student is enrolled in a group, after which the group's educational journal is registered with the traffic police. Traffic police officers keep a strict record of all students, which excludes the possibility of enrolling in a group “backdated”. If the learning process of any student is less than 2 months according to the group journal, then his documents are recognized as illegal.

It should be noted that according to the new programs (they came into effect only in August 2014), a student of a driving school has the opportunity to choose the type of transmission of the car on which he will take a practical driving course in a driving school and take an exam.

Driving hour 60 or 45 minutes? Does it include delivery from the driving school to the circuit?

As you have noticed, the duration of driving for an automatic transmission is only 2 hours less and this does not affect the cost of training. But after graduating from a driving school, in this case a certificate with a special mark “AT” is issued, which prohibits the driver from driving vehicles with a mechanical type of transmission. The choice is yours.

Since the beginning of 2014, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation “recommended” schools that train drivers to increase the number of hours of practical driving training from thirty to fifty. Now, in the example programs, respectively, the number of astronomical hours, equal to fifty, is indicated. And in the requirements for organizing the training of future drivers for schools, it is written that they must complete training according to exemplary programs. Driving schools can change at will only the number of hours of both driving and theory, they have the right to do this only upwards. But, nevertheless, there are schools that say that fifty hours are required for those students who have never been behind the wheel.

How long is the driving hour?

And, some of the driving schools provide an opportunity for students who have already acquired certain skills to choose special budget programs with a reduced number of hours in them. And before a driving school sends its student to pass exams at the traffic police, it must conduct its own, that is, internal, certification. And, depending on the results, he will either be allowed to take an examination at the traffic police, or they will still be left at school for additional training. In general, the number of hours will generally depend on the ability of the person being trained.

Learning the rules of the road for vehicle owners is only half the way before driving a personal car on your own. The main task is to get practical driving skills in a driving school.

How many driving hours should a driving school have

Many novice drivers try by all means to reduce the hours of driving in a driving school, appealing to the fact that they already have an idea about driving a vehicle.

But experienced instructors try not to violate the current legislation and to convey to the course participants the experience of driving and responding to non-standard, sometimes very dangerous situations that often occur on the roads. The educational process in a driving school takes place strictly in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation "On the approval of exemplary programs for the vocational training of drivers of vehicles of the relevant categories and subcategories" dated December 26, 2013 No. 1408. How many hours do you have to skate in a driving school according to the law in the current year?

Learning the rules of the road for vehicle owners is only half the way before driving a personal car on your own. The main task is to get practical driving skills in a driving school.

The term of training in a driving school, taking into account new driver training programs

The educational process in a driving school takes place strictly in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation "On the approval of exemplary programs for the vocational training of drivers of vehicles of the relevant categories and subcategories" dated December 26, 2013 No. 1408. It clearly indicates how much a student of such establishments.

It should be noted that according to the new programs (they came into effect only in August 2014), a student of a driving school has the opportunity to choose the type of transmission of the car on which he will take a practical driving course in a driving school and take an exam.

Usually, when we talk about learning to drive a vehicle, we mean young people behind the wheel who successfully master the science of driving in our driving school at the Water Stadium. However, recently, due to the growing prosperity of the population in the Russian Federation, a fairly large number of elderly candidates over the age of 50 wish to obtain a driver's license. There are a few things that need to be clarified for a person of this age who wants to gain independence of movement and, finally, be free from grueling journeys in public transport. Undoubtedly, absolutely all representatives of the “golden age” believe that it is too late for them to study at a driving school and public opinion plays a huge role in this. There is an assumption that at the moment when a young man turns 18, he already has his driver's license in his hands, and behind his back he has completed a training course in one of the driving schools in Moscow SAO.

How many hours of driving should be in a driving school by law in 2018

While this approach does fit most people, there is a percentage who put off learning until a later time. The reasons may be different, but many of them are related to the time constraints that life dictates to us. Often, studying at a college or higher education institution, working, having children and a well-developed public transport network do not cause a feeling of urgent need to study and get behind the wheel. Some of us may have started driving courses but put it off until later in life due to bad experiences and negative feelings.

Then, a lot of time and age passes after 40 - 50 years and people begin to realize that they need a driver's license.

In our driving school at the River Station, the first communication with such driver candidates occurs through a series of absolutely the same type of questions on the phone:

  1. I am 40/50 years old, how many driving lessons do I need to take?
  2. Am I too old to learn how to drive?
  3. Am I starting too late, is there any point in learning to ride?

Despite the initial fear and insecure life position in this matter, many “age” drivers are capable of learning and, in the end, after good preparation and lessons with a professional instructor, they begin to drive very dignified and competently.

Benefits for older students

  1. Confidence - for most of us, one feature is characteristic - the older we get, the more our sense of confidence manifests itself. This allows mature students to relax and gradually, step by step, master the science of driving a vehicle.
  2. Due to the fact that mature students spent quite a long period of time as public transport passengers, they have a good level of road safety sense and a developed ability to recognize potential risk factors, which makes it possible to prevent accidents in time.

Negative aspects of an older driver

This does not characterize every age student at all, but may affect some of them due to their older age.

  1. While driving, traffic situations develop very quickly, and the older we get, the slower we react to all sorts of dangers.
  2. Cognitive skills are acquired much more slowly and require more practice repetitions.
  3. Examination tests in the traffic police include a part of the exam on a computer, which causes a number of difficulties for the elderly due to their lack of knowledge in this area.

How many practice sessions should an older student take?

Each person, regardless of his age, of course, is different from others and requires a certain number of driving lessons, corresponding to his temperament, reaction speed, learning ability, observation and other factors. The specialists of our driving school on Voykovskaya keep special statistics on mastering practical driving skills depending on age:

  • 17 year old will need about 30 hours
  • A 30 year old should practice for about 40 hours
  • A 40 year old needs at least 50 hours

You can probably see a certain pattern: for every 10 years of life, you need to add 10 hours of study.

Driving test age statistics

A young person at the age of 17 is likely to learn and absorb material much faster than mature people. Thus, young men under the age of 25 have the highest percentage of successful passing exams for the right to drive a vehicle on the first try.

It's never too late to learn to drive

The table shows that the older we get, the lower the likelihood of passing a driving test. This will continue until we reach the age of sixty, when the percentage of change starts to rise again. The decrease in the level of positive marks on the exam is partly due to the fact that the reaction time becomes a little slower. This is most likely due to the fact that as we age, we more carefully evaluate our actions and the impact they have on others. For example, an older driver is never in a hurry to quickly leave an intersection, and this may seem too indecisive for the examiner.

To be completely honest, the advice for 40+ students doesn't change too much compared to youth, but some of them are worth considering:

  1. Driving instructor. Feel free to be picky about choosing a driving instructor. It is important that you find a teacher that you feel comfortable sitting next to and clearly understand his teaching methods, as well as find sufficient motivation to continue studying. A good instructor is able to make your driving lessons exciting and fun, and in this case, a positive emotional background and maximum return will undoubtedly bring results.
  2. Regular practice session. Infrequent and spontaneous lessons reduce your chance of success, and you will spend more time at the beginning of each lesson, reviewing and remembering the material covered. If possible, try to have at least two meetings per week, each about 1.5 hours long.
  3. Experience. The more experience, the better! If possible, get additional driving experience from family members or friends. But use it only as an addition, and leave the learning process to the teacher.
  4. Manual or automatic gear box? For the purpose of safer and more comfortable driving, drivers 50+ should give preference to automatic transmission. For many students, this significantly shortens the learning curve and allows them to concentrate on the road and the surroundings rather than thinking about shifting gears.

How many hours of driving must a driving school legally have?

There is no learning process in a driving school without practical driving lessons. But each driving school creates its own training programs, and the cost of training in a driving school will directly depend on the number of driving hours issued at the school. Driving theory for all programs will be the same. Why does the number of driving hours depend, why does this number differ in different driving schools, and how many of these hours should be issued at a school according to the law?

If during the training process or after obtaining the rights you need a transport trace examination, click on the link. Professional approach, reasonable prices and high quality are waiting for you on the proposed site.

And, some of the driving schools provide an opportunity for students who have already acquired certain skills to choose special budget programs with a reduced number of hours in them.

How many hours of driving must a driving school legally have?

And before a driving school sends its student to pass exams at the traffic police, it must conduct its own, that is, internal, certification. And, depending on the results, he will either be allowed to take an examination at the traffic police, or they will still be left at school for additional training. In general, the number of hours will generally depend on the ability of the person being trained.

Most often, the program includes 50 hours of driving, and these hours are issued for twenty-five lessons. Let us analyze in more detail how it is calculated how many hours of driving will be in a driving school.

Since the cost of training depends on the number of hours, look carefully at what hours the driving school offers you. Hours are academic, forty-five minutes, and astronomical, for sixty minutes. When you enter into an agreement with a driving school, do not forget to ensure that it indicates both the number of hours and the number of minutes in these hours.

As a rule, the fifty hours of driving provided to you include both the internal driving test at the school and the exam at the traffic police, and the exams take about four hours. Ask for detailed explanations of these points too.

In the methodological developments in which the driving programs are written, it is indicated that the very first three lessons, and this is usually six hours, are held either on simulators or on training cars.

Let's calculate: from twenty-five lessons we subtract 2 lessons for exams and three lessons on simulators and get the remainder of twenty lessons.

It also happens that the driving school staff themselves will provoke a reduction in the number of full-fledged lessons, for example, by telling you that you are not yet doing the exercises well enough on the site, and that you should not go to the city yet. This is dangerous, and if you have not received the necessary minimum skills, then you should not drive around the city on your own.

The number of hours, how, in what form these hours will be given to you, should be written on special cards, in which students sign each time after class.
